Dodson & Horrell Supports the Cotswold Cup with Bumper Prizes and Riding Bursaries for Junior Riders

26th July 2021

The Cotswold Cup is a new, unaffiliated eventing series launched in 2021 which has already proved hugely popular with amateur riders. The aim is to provide a series of top-class events across the Cotswolds and surrounding areas. The cup qualifiers are open to all competitors culminating in a Championship final in September at the prestigious Gatcombe Park. Classes are set at 80cm, 90cm and 100cm with a 70cm class with its own separate championship at Waverton House in July.

The series is designed to give back to grassroots eventing by offering something unique for unaffiliated event riders. With a £10,000 prize pot on offer at the prestigious Gatcombe Park Championships, the competition to make the final will be fierce!

As an Associate Sponsor and exclusive feed brand partner, Dodson & Horrell will be offering goody bags to the top 10 finishers in each Championship class, these will be won along with their prize money. The Cotswold Cup are also providing the Junior Championship (under 18’s) winners a training bursary, consisting of 10 lessons with Cotswold based elite riders, Laura Collett, Tom McEwen or Harry Meade. As these riders are all Dodson & Horrell Brand Ambassadors it made the Cotswold Cup an even more perfect fit for D&H and as a result they are also offering the Juniors placed second, three lessons with one of their other Brand Ambassadors, either Willa Newton, Bubby Upton or Richard Jones and the third placed riders will each receive one lesson.

“Dodson & Horrell is so excited to be supporting this series; grassroots sport is where it all starts and where the majority of horse owners and riders compete. These hard-working competitors often hold down full time jobs and fit eventing around their busy family lives; so to have a series dedicated to them, concluding with a final with significant prize money held at such an incredible venue, is fantastic.

We are just as committed to amateur horses and riders at D&H as we are to our top level Brand Ambassadors and to be able to support the junior riders with riding bursaries is a real privilege. We are sure that these young riders will get so much from the support and experience that our elite eventers are able to offer, and we are thrilled to be a part of it!” commented Lucy Scott, Dodson & Horrell's Marketing Manager.

’We are delighted and honoured to have the support and endorsement of top British feed company Dodson & Horrell. With all three of our existing bursary trainers D&H Brand Ambassadors, we couldn’t think of a better fit for the Cotswold Cup Series.

With Dodson & Horrell’s commitment to supporting grass roots riders on a par with ours, we are very excited to see what this partnership can achieve for the amateur event riders who compete with us through the Series” commented Clemmie Fraser from the Cotswold Cup team.
