FOUR ELITE RIDERS, ONE VENUE, ONE UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE YOUR PERFORMANCE FOR THE 2018 SEASON

Dodson & Horrell has created a unique Performance Masterclass with demonstrations by Brand Ambassadors and international competitors - Richard Davison, Geoff Billington, Piggy French and Sophie Wells. You can improve your performance in 2018 with tips from the riders covering all disciplines. There will also be an equine nutritional discussion with Dodson & Horrell’s Head of Nutrition, Catherine Rudenko, and a talk from an Elite Performance Sports Psychologist, Dr Karl Steptoe CPsychol.

The Masterclass, which will be compared by Spencer Sturmey, takes place at Arena UK, Lincolnshire on Saturday 17 March, doors open at 12.00 noon for a 2.00pm start. Four-time Olympian Richard Davison will be the first rider into the arena. Richard, who has been at the forefront of International dressage for three decades is well known for his informative and insightful dressage demonstrations. Guests are guaranteed to go away inspired.

Sophie Wells MBE is a British para-equestrian dressage rider who has won no less than four Olympic medals. During her section of the Masterclass she will give a teaching demonstration to a rider competing at BE Novice level.

The Head of Nutrition at Dodson & Horrell, Catherine Rudenko, will then lead an educational discussion based around key areas of equine nutrition where top-level performance is concerned, including considering antioxidants, starch and fibre intake. Catherine is the lead nutritionist behind the relaunch of Dodson & Horrell’s performance range, which aims to give competition horses the ultimate diet for performance. Dodson & Horrell know all about feeding for the best results and have supplied many top competition and race horses around the world including two-time Goodwood Cup winner, Big Orange and all of 10-times champion national hunt trainer Paul Nicholls’ yard. With an extensive team of Performance Horse Specialists Dodson & Horrell can make sure that these top equine athletes are in peak condition when it comes to the big day. Attendees are sure to go away with a new-found insight into the science that goes into Dodson & Horrell’s premium quality feed.

Catherine commented “The correct training and feeding regime for your horse is critical to ensure they are able to produce their best when competing. We have created a new performance range with this in mind and the Masterclass will help to bring all these elements together; it should be very exciting to see it all come to life.”

Next up in the Masterclass is one of Britain best loved event riders, Piggy French, who has competed for Great Britain on numerous occasions including World and European Championships. Piggy will demonstrate the art of competitive cross country riding including jumping extreme angles and skinnies.

Dealing with competition nerves, developing self-belief and learning how to cope with competition pressure is key to performance. Sport and Exercise Psychologist Dr Karl Steptoe CPsychol, is the Sport and Performance Psychology Lead at Loughborough University. Karl will be on hand to give his expert advice.

Finally, legendary British showjumper, Geoff Billington, will ride two horses competing at the top level and demonstrate the skills and training required to jump the large and technical fences met on the international circuit

The Dodson & Horrell Performance Masterclass aims to inspire and educate the next generation of elite riders as well as inform those amateur riders who want help to get the most out of their competition season ahead.
