25th March - Dodson & Horrell retained as official supplier of nutrition to Equestrian Team GBR for a further four years
The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) has retained Europe’s leading horse feed manufacturer, Dodson & Horrell, as the official supplier of nutrition to Equestrian Team GBR for another four years.
Dodson & Horrell was first granted the high-profile role in 2009 and the contract renewal will see the company offer impartial nutritional advice in the run up to next year’s WEG (World Equestrian Games) in Normandy, France and the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio, 2016.
Under the agreement, Dodson & Horrell’s team of nutritionists play a pivotal role in advising Team GBR squads, team managers, coaches and vets. This specialist nutritional advice extends not just to the Performance Programme but also to the Development Programme, Equine Pathway, and more recently the BEF Excel Programme.
Sam Horrell, Marketing Director at Dodson & Horrell said: “We are very proud of our involvement with Equestrian Team GBR. As well as providing impartial nutritional advice, we also co-ordinate the logistics for transporting and locating feed for Team GBR, whether they are competing in the UK or abroad. In 2010 we worked closely with the BEF to deliver over 265 bags of horse feed to WEG, Kentucky.
“All our feed products, whether for performance or leisure horses, are formulated based on extensive research and development, and we believe our commitment to research and quality assurance has resulted in us being retained by the BEF for another term.”
Equestrian Performance Director, Will Connell said; “We are thrilled that Dodson & Horrell have agreed to carry on supporting Equestrian Team GBR and the World Class Programme. As a market leader, the advice and expertise they provide is invaluable. Rio 2016 will be challenging form a nutritional planning point of view and having Dodson & Horrell ‘onboard’ will help us deliver a performance focused plan. Their financial support is also invaluable in ensuring support across Team GBR.”
