Privacy & Registered User Confidentiality Policy

Dodson & Horrell Ltd. (we and us) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and the information entered into the Dodson & Horrell Equi-Cal Website ("the Website").

This policy (together with the Equi-Cal Terms of Service and Registration) sets out the basis on which any data we collect from you, or that you provide to us on the Website (“Your Information”), will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your data and how we will treat it.

For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is Dodson & Horrell Ltd.

We will treat all Your Information as confidential (although we reserve the right to disclose this information in the circumstances set out below). We will keep it on a secure server and we will fully comply with all applicable UK Data Protection and consumer legislation from time to time in place.

Information we may collect from you and how we use it

  • Information you provide.

When you register as a Registered User, we ask you for personal information (such as your name, email address and an account password). We may combine the information you submit under your account with information from other Dodson & Horrell services in order to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of our services.

When you enter Your Information into the Service we will store this on our secure servers.

  • User communications.

When you send email or other communications to Dodson & Horrell we may retain those communications in order to process your enquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.

  • IP addresses and cookies

We may collect information about your computer including, where available, your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

For the same reason, we may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us to:

  • estimate our audience size and usage pattern;
  • store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customise the Website according to your individual interests;

Process and storing your information

The personal data that we collect from you is processed only by staff who work either for us or one of our group companies or for one of our service providers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the processing of any service request and the provision of support services.

Access to Your Information will only be provided to our staff who are required to access Your Information in order to provide the Service.  All our staff who access Your Information will do so on the basis that Your Information is confidential.  Please be aware that in order to provide the Equi-Cal Service our staff will use Your Information to continually update and refine the Equi-Cal growth curve and for research purposes, individual horse data will be treated as confidential.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Uses made of your information

We only processes personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and/or the supplementary privacy notices for specific services. In addition to the above, such purposes include:

  • Auditing, research and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve our services;
  • Ensuring the technical functioning of our network;
  • To serve website content and advertisements to you
  • If you consent, to notify you of products or special offers that may be of interest to you and
  • Developing new services.

Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to any affiliated company within our group.

We only share personal information with other companies or individuals outside of Dodson & Horrell  in the following limited circumstances:

Accessing and updating personal information
