Forage should ideally form the bulk of your horse’s diet and since each forage harvest is different, knowing the nutritional quality of your hay, haylage or grass can be very useful in making sure that your horse's diet is healthy and balanced.
Dodson & Horrell offers a range of Forage Analysis Services that are carried out in our on-site Laboratory or in External Laboratories, depending on which service you require.
Once you have sent us your forage sample, you will then receive a forage report which will include a nutritional analysis of your forage. We encourage you to discuss these results with our nutritional helpline team who will help you to build a tailored feeding plan for your horse.
We offer 5 forage analysis packages to suit your requirements; details and links for each can be found below:
This service tests your hay, haylage, straw or grass to determine the total mineral content of your forage.
Analytes tested for: Calcium, Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorous, Potassium, Sodium, Zinc, Cobalt, Iodine, Molybdenum, Selenium, Sulphur and Nitrogen.
